Memorial Day Airshow
After nine years in Columbia, we finally made it to the annual Memorial Day air show. It's a free event put on to commemorate our armed service men and women from all the American wars.
Here you can see a miracle taking place: Jaron encircled by buttons, knobs, switches, controls, screens, pedals, etc., and he didn't touch a single one. Amazing! Perhaps he was so overwhelmed by the display of his favorite devices, that he didn't know what to touch first.
Some of the planes were available for touching and climbing in.
These pictures fail to show the planes in any detail, but who cares about planes. Look at the boys! We watched lots of biplanes fly around.
Ephraim's favorite was this WW2 plane that had wings that fold back against it's side for easier parking on aircraft carriers. It's called the Grumman TBF Avenger. Apparently, George H. W Bush flew one in WW2.
Since the event was free, we didn't have to feel bad about leaving after only 90 minutes. We missed plenty, but we can see it all next year. We finished early enough to take some time as a family to clean our chapel.
Special thanks to Aunt Tina for being our photographer.

Three hundred and three cheers for Aunt Tina for providing fresh photos for the boy-starved grandparents in California!
Who cares about the planes??!?? The boys were the points of interest!
WOW! Jaron didn't touch a button! That was a red-letter day!
